St Patrick's Catholic School Te Awamutu

Our lovely office staff  are always available to serve you !

The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:15am until 3:15pm.

1.  For absences from school

Because it is a legal requirement that all students attend school in NZ (unless they are registered as  being Home schooled),  student absences need to be advised in writing (email : office@stpatta.co.nz also accepted).

Where students are sick, please contact the office by phone (871 4669) on the day and when your child returns to school please provide a note explaining why your child was absent.

If the absence is known in advance, please advise in writing.

Where a child becomes unwell during the day, your child will come to the sickbay and you will be contacted to collect them. All students are signed out of school.

If your child arrives at school after the bell or is collected and returned to school during the school day, they need to go to the office to be signed in or out.

2.  For finances / payments

There are three types of fees/donations that are charged at our school.

a)  Attendance Dues :  These are charged by the Hamilton Catholic Diocese as our buildings are not owned by the State but by the Catholic Church. These fees go towards the upkeep and replacement of our school buildings. An invoice is sent to you directly from the Catholic Integrated School's Office in Hamilton and payments are made directly to them. The fee charged per child for attendance at a Catholic Primary School in 2013 is : $396.00 per year (incl GST). There are subsidies available if you are finding this difficult to pay, so please contact principal@stpatta.co.nz or call the office to speak to me.

b)  Donations :  The board have decided to ask parents for two donations to assist with the finances of the school.

   (i)   ICT donation to assist the school in maintaining and advancing ICT in the school. The

donation requested for 2013 is : $80.00 per child (maximum $200.00 per family).

(ii)  RE Digital Resource Donation. This charged by the National Centre for Religious

Studies (NCRS) for the rights to use the RE Digital Resourc in classroom programmes.

The donation requested in 2013 is : $8.00 per child

We thank you in advance for paying these donations!

c)  Fees for goods and/or services provided

These are fees for sports, trips, stationery purchased fromschool etc. You are advised at the time of any activity involving your child in writing and there is normally a tear-off portion attached to the letter allowing you to pay this at the time. When doing this, please place the tear-off slip with the money in an envelope including you child's name, room number and what the payment is for, on the outside of the envelope. If you child is bringing this payament to school, this should come to the office BEFORE SCHOOL.

Student Accounts.

The school operates a student accounting system where the donations and any goods

and/or services provided are debited.

Statements are issued each term, with the last account in term 4 showing a credit
