Pastoral Care is an important part of being 'the community of St Pat's '.
This group encompasses both parish and school and works to ensure that no one is left out.
The Family Group network re-established in 2013 also has a part to play ensuring that members of their groups feel 'included'.
As part of our Pastoral Care we have a freezer which we keep stocked with meals for families in need e.g. family illness, hospitalisation, birth, bereavement.
Once, possible twice a year, your Family Group co-ordinator may phone you and ask if you are able to participate in a cook-up to restock the freezer. This may involve donating ingredients, or getting together with other people from your group to cook up meals with ingredients provided, or donating a meal that can be frozen. We realise everyone leads busy lives and if you are able to do any one of these suggestions we are grateful, if you weren't able, there is certainly no obligation whatsoever.
Other times you may hear from your family group co-ordinator that there is special event is occurring in the school, or we are canvassing the school community on important issues e.g. Startegic Planning.
Family Groups and Pastoral Care is special to St Pat's, the freezer has been well utilised since we got it, and we are always there for any family in need.
