At St Patrick’s Catholic School, our Religious Education programme is central to the life of our kura. Guided by the New Zealand Catholic Bishops’ Conference curriculum Tō Tātou Whakapono – Our Faith, we nurture the spiritual, moral, and cultural development of our tamariki.
Our programme fosters a deep understanding of Catholic teaching, scripture, and tradition, while encouraging ākonga to make connections to their own lives and the world around them. Daily prayer, liturgy, and celebrations of the Sacraments are woven into the rhythm of school life, helping children to encounter Christ and grow in their personal relationship with Him.
We value the rich cultural identities of our community, honouring te ao Māori alongside other cultures worldviews within our Religious Education programme. Through this, we develop faith-filled, respectful learners who embody our school values of Faith - Whakapono, Hope - Tūmunako, Aroha - Love, and Service - Manaakitanga, and are empowered to serve others in the spirit of Christ.
Our RE Curriculum is organised under the following Themes:
God - Te Atua
Good News - Te Rongopai
Our Story - Ā Tātou Whakapapa
Being Church - Kia Noho Hāhi
and the Cross Themes:
Holiness Aroha Pūmau
Wisdom - Whāronui

The Curriculum is thorough and each year builds on the knowledge gained in the previous year.
